At the Gathering we brought together the three groups of children and youth for whom we have some care. They came from Mduduzii Family Care, Ithemba Nenjabulo and the Ngwena Family, and included orphans, child-headed families, vulnerable children and the poor and struggling members of our communities.

Further upgrading of some buildings at Damesfontein to provide additional accommodation for staff at the proposed St. Joseph’ youth and child care Centre.
Ithemba Nenjabulo Project
We not only “adopted” the children but we took on the dog as well. It all provides a splendid lesson in care and kindness, and more importantly the children obviously adore the dog.
Everyone is keeping well and happy. Thank your for support.
The M-CARE Project Bantam was in ‘hospital’ for a few weeks with major and minor issues. She was discharged this week, feeling very much better, and is now back at work.
This is Vincent who is the Project Coordinator demonstrating his ever growing knowledge of mechanics.
We received some marvellous home-made blankets for the Crèche at the Ekuthuleni Project. Thank you to the ladies of the Wednesday Group in Saffron Walden, Essex in the Brentwood Diocese. (Photo awaited)

The First General Assembly of CARITAS SOUTH AFRICA.
Fr. Gerald is representing the Diocese of Dundee which is working towards operating as CARITAS, together with all the social Projects within the Diocese. The Assembly has taken place in Pretoria September 4th – 7th.

The boundary of a new STAND being fenced to extend the Family – thank you to M-CARE. It was an exceptionally cold and windy day!! The Youth already have ideas and dreams – with thanks to Vincent and Rose.
At the moment the area is rather remote but we have been promised water and electricity within two years. It is so exciting to be in on this venture right from the beginning. The first building by the end of September/October will be a shack and the STAND number painted on it for official registration with the Municipality. We praise God.

Some members of the ITHEMBA NENJABULA Project made the journey in July 2018, in the spirit of a pilgrimage, from Embalenhle Township to Damesfontein to paint and refurbish the shrine of Our Lady.
They asked for the intercession of Mary for the proposed project of St. Joseph’s – that is the Damesfontein Child and Youth Care Centre.
